About the positions
BIA is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Engineer or Project Officer to join our Engineering and Property team. In this full time, ongoing position, you will report to the General Manager – Engineering and Property and play a key role in the successful delivery of a range of projects funded through capital and operating expense budgets.
In these roles, you will work autonomously to provide essential support and oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards, while promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture.
About the person we seek
Project Officer: As the ideal candidate, you will have 1-4 years of project experience in civil or building works. You will have proven skills in managing contractors and working within teams, along with experience in scoping, scheduling, and delivering minor projects. Your ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, will enable you to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Project Engineer : The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ post-graduation experience in project coordination and/ or management roles. You will be proactive, results-driven, and have a proven track record in project coordination and delivery. With strong leadership skills, you will be able to motivate teams and effectively manage contractors. Your excellent communication skills will help you build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
As the successful applicant you will also hold a current C Class manual driver licence, White Card, and the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and comply with BIA’s Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP).
Experience within the aviation sector is highly regarded but not essential.
