The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Payroll Officer to join a payroll team of three in a newly created role within a Global organisation. You will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of monthly payroll for approximately 1,000 employees . The company currently uses Preceda but is transitioning to a new payroll provider, so adaptability and a willingness to learn are essential.
Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end payroll processing (monthly and off-cycle payrolls)
  • Manage payroll provider relationships , ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll calculations , including bonuses, commissions, and statutory obligations (e.g., superannuation, workers’ compensation)
  • Work closely with Finance to maintain clean Balance Sheet reconciliations and internal control compliance
  • Assist with payroll system transition and process improvements
  • Respond to employee queries regarding payroll in a timely and professional manner
  • Support the Tax Manager with FBT submissions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in payroll processes

About You

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 1-2 years of payroll experience with a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation
  • Experience with end-to-end payroll processing
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and manage a high-volume workload
Desirable:
  • Experience with Preceda or other payroll systems
  • Exposure to payroll system transitions
  • Analytical skills and initiative to improve processes
