The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Payroll Officer to join a payroll team of three in a newly created role within a Global organisation. You will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of monthly payroll for approximately 1,000 employees . The company currently uses Preceda but is transitioning to a new payroll provider, so adaptability and a willingness to learn are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end payroll processing (monthly and off-cycle payrolls)
- Manage payroll provider relationships , ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll calculations , including bonuses, commissions, and statutory obligations (e.g., superannuation, workers’ compensation)
- Work closely with Finance to maintain clean Balance Sheet reconciliations and internal control compliance
- Assist with payroll system transition and process improvements
- Respond to employee queries regarding payroll in a timely and professional manner
- Support the Tax Manager with FBT submissions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in payroll processes

Required Skills & Experience:
- 1-2 years of payroll experience with a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation
- Experience with end-to-end payroll processing
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and manage a high-volume workload
- Experience with Preceda or other payroll systems
- Exposure to payroll system transitions
- Analytical skills and initiative to improve processes
