Description:

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Reviews, Curriculum, Teaching and Learning team as Director, located in Education House. The successful applicant will have demonstrated extensive experience and leadership in successfully developing and delivering a range of significant and complex projects through strategic planning, collaboration and high-level understanding of matters relating to curriculum, teaching and learning and school improvement.

As Director, you will lead collaborative, strategic planning and provide strategic support to Curriculum, Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the School Improvement branch within the Department of Education.

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and undertaking the following key tasks:

  • Apply strong CTL knowledge and experience and provide high level support and advice to the Executive Director and Assistant Director-General, including key communication approaches to support implementation of CTL initiatives by schools through regions.
  • Lead, coordinate and undertake high level strategic activities to support business and system priorities and the provision of advice to CTL teams, the Executive Directors and the Assistant Director-General on matters relating to government commitments, curriculum region and school implementation.
  • Lead School Improvement Branch communication, developing and enacting a coordinated and aligned approach to communication across CTL and the broader School Improvement branch, including distilling system and government priorities, aligning branch work with system messages.
  • Develop and lead programs including resources and capability development for curriculum-associated priorities, school and region reviews, digital and virtual learning and school improvement.
  • Lead co-design of presentations and other artefacts designed for communication purposes including adult pedagogy and taking into account alignment to Equity and Excellence and across the School Improvement branch.
  • Prepare, have oversight of and provide advice on high level submissions, reports, papers, statements, briefings and correspondence on complex issues.

  • demonstrated ability to gather information from a range of sources and undertake critical analysis; and demonstrated networking and collaborative skills across a range of stakeholders.
