Scope is a registered provider under the NDIS and delivers a range of services including supported independent living, short term accommodation (respite), social connections, lifestyle options, therapy and employment services in over 420 service locations across Victoria and NSW.

About your role:

Supporting the Head of Safeguarding, you will play an integral part in leading the organisation to meet and maintain NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS), Department of Social Services (DSS), and other mandatory registration requirements while ensuring readiness for external audits. The role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including but not limited to the NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS legislation, and National Standards for Disability Services.

Your key focus:

  • Support Scope to meet all accreditation standards and successfully navigates external compliance audits.
  • Undertake a program of self-assessments against relevant Standards eg. NDIS Practice Standards, ISO22000, HACCP.
  • Recognise deficiencies from relevant Practice Standards self-assessments and support the development of a plan in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to address and rectify the identified gaps.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Risk, Compliance, and Assurance Team, using internal audits to ensure standards compliance and audit preparedness.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting across disability services in Victoria and New South Wales
  • Collaborate with the Quality Team to ensure service delivery is aware of and complies with applicable standards and legislation.
  • Contribute to the quality and safeguarding culture, empowering and staff to appreciate that quality is about the people Scope supports, not compliance alone.

What we look for:

  • Previous experience in a compliance/safeguarding role, with a sound understanding of quality management systems, compliance principles, quality frameworks, internal auditing practice and the ability to coordinate corrective action plans.
  • Incident management, quality improvement frameworks in disability sector and/ or human services.
  • Experience in Community and/or NFP organisations (highly regarded).
  • Sound understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment for disability support services or similar in health or aged care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the NDIS and Quality and Safeguarding Framework, the NSDS, human rights and other person-centred approaches.
  • Ability to think and work strategically through working collaboratively with other leaders to align the organisation’s overall strategy.
