Who will you be working with? Reporting to the TIC you will be working on multiple projects under Wabtec's Signalling & Systems business segment.
Where is the position located? The position is located at our office in Woolloongabba, QLD with travel to project sites as required.
How will you make a difference? The purpose of the Testing and Commissioning Manager is to be responsible for developing and implementing testing and commissioning plans for our projects. This will involve ensuring that all equipment and systems are installed and tested on-site in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
What will your typical day look like?
- Lead and manage the engineering design management process and submissions.
- Interface with civil engineering contractors and subcontractor personnel.
- Develop and maintain project programs and documentation.
- Develop procurement plans and documentation.
- Liaise with the Project Manager, Document Controller and engineering functions to ensure compliant and timely submissions.
- Produce internal and external reports.
- Extract weekly deliverables from the project program and communicate to the wider project team members via progress meetings.
- Present key deliverable dates and milestones.
- Provide updates on Scope of Work deliverables in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the development of documentation to support future bids.
- Promote and ensure the appropriate standards of health, safety and environmental management are adhered to
- Preparation of testing and commissioning plans; Complete all relevant documentation required for testing and commissioning activities in accordance with client and industry standards;
- Control and optimise the allocation of human and physical resources in respect to testing and commissioning activities on the project;
- Identify potential safety, cost, time, quality, procurement and human resources issues and implement corrective actions
- Liaise with project management and construction ensuring all site works are completed prior to testing and commissioning;
- Report on testing and commissioning activities as required;
- Develop teams and individual team members competence.
- Work closely with the engineering project management and construction team;
- Maintain and foster relationships with current and potential stakeholders, in particular, clients, service providers, contractors, subcontractors and employees.
What do we want to know about you?
- Mandatory to hold client statement of competencies such as MTM, ARTC, V-Line for testing and commissioning
- Ability to focus on critical details ensuring accuracy and precision
- Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills.
- Engineering degree in a relevant field
- Considerable amount of experience working as a Tester in Charge within the Rail Industry
- Role entails regular travel to client site, successful candidate should be open to travel
