About the team
At Corporate Office, our Technology team provides end to end services for our Corporate Office, as well as supports knowledge sharing and best practice across the Wesfarmers Group.
What you’ll do
The Technology Systems Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and support of IT systems for the Corporate Office. This third-line technical role provides advanced troubleshooting, system maintenance, and optimisation of corporate IT infrastructure and applications.
With a strong focus on technical issue resolution, system monitoring, and BAU operations, this role works closely with the team to ensure seamless IT service delivery. This role also contributes to system improvements, assists in upgrades and migrations and ensures IT operations align with business needs.
Key responsibilities include:
System maintenance optimisation
- Conduct regular system monitoring, maintenance, and optimisation to ensure high availability and performance
- Apply patches, updates, and firmware upgrades to maintain security and system integrity
- Maintain accurate documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and best practices
Infrastructure and application support
- Provide technical expertise on cloud-based solutions, virtualisation, and collaboration tools
- Ensure the reliable operation of Microsoft 365, enterprise mobility solutions, and key business applications
Technical support and troubleshooting
- Act as a third-line escalation point for complex IT incidents, ensuring timely resolution
- Diagnose and resolve server, network, cloud, and application issues affecting business operations
Continuous improvement and process optimisation
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements, reducing recurring system issues and incidents
- Recommend and develop automation solutions to streamline IT operations and reduce manual tasks
Vendor and stakeholder engagement
- Engage with IT vendors and service providers to ensure effective support and service levels
- Collaborate with business units to understand IT needs and provide technical solutions
What you’ll need
- Strong background in third-line troubleshooting and service operations
- Experience in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and virtualisation
- Proven ability to manage IT service operations, system monitoring, and proactive maintenance
- System Administration: strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and virtualisation
- BAU operations and IT maintenance: experience in system patching, upgrades, monitoring, and proactive maintenance
- Cloud and virtualisation: familiarity with Azure, AWS, and VMware technologies
- ITIL and service management: understanding of ITIL processes, including incident, problem, and change management
- Automation and scripting: ability to automate tasks using PowerShell, Python, or equivalent scripting languages
- Documentation and knowledge sharing: strong technical writing skills for SOPs, system guides, and knowledge base articles
Nice to have’s
- Knowledge of DevOps and code
- Understanding of networking and cyber security
