About the Role
Head of People & Culture – APAC
As the Head of People & Culture, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the workplace experience, ensuring we attract, develop, and retain top talent, along with building an environment where our 400 team members feel engaged, supported and motivated.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President – APAC and being a strategic part of the APAC Leadership team, the role can be located at either our Brisbane or Perth CBD office with regular travel required to the office that is not the primary location.
Key duties
- Oversee the People functions including Business Partnership, Employee Relations, Payroll, Engagement & Wellbeing, Cyclic activities and legislative HR compliance
- Work with the executive team and stakeholders to define, structure and develop strategies and plans to implement long-term people initiatives in order to achieve the imperatives for the organisation
- Support the Leadership team by providing key insights to business operations and performance, regarding their people and leading people practices
- Maintain and meet evolving compliance and legislative standards
- Oversee the annual cyclic processes and deliverables
- Produce and use meaningful and robust information to inform, monitor and instigate operational actions to meet company objectives
- Develop and coordinate robust, timely and accurate metric reporting and tracking against people key performance indicators (lag and lead)
- Foster a vibrant and psychosocially safe workplace that stimulates individual and organisational success, enhances the DRA brand, and improves people retention
- Oversee, produce and enforce the key policies and procedures (e.g. DOA, People Procedures & Policy)
- Ensure the implementation, maintenance and compliance (Fair Work Act) of a strong control environment ensuring the delivery of consistent, accurate, timely and relevant tools and education, supported by leveraged systems
- Be the custodian of operational people systems and data and drive efficiencies through opportunities such as simplification and automation
- Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, service and compliance of Payroll activities and reconciliations are performed
- Implementing assessment processes to discern various types of talent, succession planning and career development planning for critical resources
- Ensure the provision of professional and effective people solutions
- Manage approved P&C and Wellbeing budgets and ensure that people expenditure and cost management is effective
- Ensure appropriate P&C risk assessment and risk mitigation plans are developed and implemented across all areas of responsibility
- Actively position People & Culture as an engaged and strategic partner and motivate and lead operational activity to create alignment across the business
- Establish, maintain and leverage mutually beneficial relationships with key internal stakeholders
- Identifying resource and skill gaps and developing strategies to bridge gaps
- Work collaboratively on Group initiatives with the Global HR community and drive improvements and efficiency across the Company
You will have
- Tertiary Degree in Human Resources and/or related field, or relevant experience
- A passion for creating an exceptional team member experience and values driven workplace
- Be capable of creating long-term people strategies while engaging in day-to-day HR leadership duties
- Be skilled at engaging stakeholders, inspiring teams and driving cultural change
- Have experience in implementing progressive HR initiatives that enhance employer brand and talent attraction
