Kununurra Full-day Full-time

Description:

Your next employer
This privately owned agribusiness is at the forefront of agricultural development in the Kimberley. Focused on innovation and efficiency, their latest project located just 40km north-east of Kununurra is set to transform 6,000ha into a high-performance irrigation farm. With 500ha already developed and planted, the next 3-5 years will see the remaining land brought into production, setting a new benchmark for large-scale irrigated agriculture.
This project is pushing the boundaries, and reshaping Australia’s agricultural landscape. Here, you’ll join a team that values grit, quality, and a bit of outback flair. If you know Trimble Field Level 2, laser levelling, and large-scale land shaping, this is your chance to make your mark on a once-in-a-generation project.
The Role
Working closely with the General Manager, and your team of 15 operators, oversee bulk earthworks, land grading, and site development across a 6,000ha expansion project. From setting out fields to operating laser buckets and managing heavy machinery, your focus will be ensuring efficient, accurate, and high-quality earthmoving.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage bulk earthworks and land development to prepare paddocks for irrigated cotton.
  • Oversee Trimble Field Level II GPS-controlled levelling systems to ensure accurate field grading.
  • Lead and supervise 15-20 operators, ensuring effective communication and smooth operations across a 25km property.
  • Work closely with farm management and engineers on irrigation infrastructure, including pump stations and channel layout.
  • Troubleshoot machinery, oversee maintenance and ensure projects stay on schedule with minimal downtime.
Individuals looking to step up into a role such as this are encouraged to apply!
What You Bring:
Our ideal candidate will come with hands-on experience in bulk earthworks, land levelling, and large-scale site preparation, with a solid grasp of agricultural or civil construction standards - particularly with GPS-controlled grading systems like Trimble Field Level 2 or T3rra Cutta.
  • Proven experience in bulk earthworks & land levelling (farm development, civil earthworks, or large-scale cotton/broadacre projects).
  • Hands-on Trimble Field Level 2 / T3rra Cutta experience or similar 3D earthmoving systems.
  • Strong GPS & laser bucket knowledge – you’ll be driving site accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to manage large-scale land clearing, cut & fill operations, and grading for irrigation setup.
  • Experience leading teams in earthworks, irrigation, or farm development settings.
What You’ll Gain:
  • $150k - $180k + Super, car, house (inc utilities & meals) - Circa $220k ++ pkg
  • Relocation assistance
  • 6 weeks of annual leave
