The Role
Working closely with the General Manager, and your team of 15 operators, oversee bulk earthworks, land grading, and site development across a 6,000ha expansion project. From setting out fields to operating laser buckets and managing heavy machinery, your focus will be ensuring efficient, accurate, and high-quality earthmoving.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage bulk earthworks and land development to prepare paddocks for irrigated cotton.
- Oversee Trimble Field Level II GPS-controlled levelling systems to ensure accurate field grading.
- Lead and supervise 15-20 operators, ensuring effective communication and smooth operations across a 25km property.
- Work closely with farm management and engineers on irrigation infrastructure, including pump stations and channel layout.
- Troubleshoot machinery, oversee maintenance and ensure projects stay on schedule with minimal downtime.
What You Bring:
Our ideal candidate will come with hands-on experience in bulk earthworks, land levelling, and large-scale site preparation, with a solid grasp of agricultural or civil construction standards - particularly with GPS-controlled grading systems like Trimble Field Level 2 or T3rra Cutta.
- Proven experience in bulk earthworks & land levelling (farm development, civil earthworks, or large-scale cotton/broadacre projects).
- Hands-on Trimble Field Level 2 / T3rra Cutta experience or similar 3D earthmoving systems.
- Strong GPS & laser bucket knowledge – you’ll be driving site accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to manage large-scale land clearing, cut & fill operations, and grading for irrigation setup.
- Experience leading teams in earthworks, irrigation, or farm development settings.
- $150k - $180k + Super, car, house (inc utilities & meals) - Circa $220k ++ pkg
