About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work at Box Hill Institute as our Learning Support Officer . This is a part-time (0.40EFT), fixed-term opportunity to December 2025, based at our Lilydale Campus. This position reports directly to the Manager (Principal) Schools Unit, and sits within the Foundation Education College area of the Education Delivery portfolio.

What you'll do:

  • Support the teaching and assessment practices of the Schools Unit to enable all students to experience learning success.
  • Provide effective Education support to students with learning needs or gaps.
  • Ensure that students have every opportunity to be independent and autonomous learners.
  • Increase awareness of learning disorders, retention and outcomes through knowledge and strategy
  • Establish positive relationships with students.
  • Responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across the Box Hill Institute and liaising with relevant external stakeholders.

  • Experience in working collaboratively as part of a team to achieve team goals , including excellent organisational skills, flexibility during peak periods, and ability to adapt to changing priorities is essential
  • Victorian Working with Children Check clearance
  • National Police Check clearance

Qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate III or IV School Based Education support and/or recognised Tertiary Education Qualification within the TAFE/School sector with experience in Learning Support/Child Safety is preferred and will be highly regarded.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or its successor TAE40116 minimum) is preferred and will be highly regarded
  • Experience in language, literacy, numeracy and digital capability support, preferably within the secondary school or TAFE sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and supporting teaching and/or participation strategies which are inclusive of learners and students with language, literacy, and numeracy gaps, diagnosed and undiagnosed learning disorders and general learning gaps.
