We are looking for a strategic leader as our ‘ Manager Digital Portfolio Delivery’ , within our newly established Digital Portfolio Management Office (PMO). This is a permanent hire which can be based in any of our key locations, across Queensland including Brisbane (Newstead), Toowoomba, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Cairns, Mackay or Townsville.

From a Digital/IT standpoint, we manage and deliver multi-million dollar projects-including systems implementations, big data, cloud, AI technology, cyber security and customer platforms to ensure we keep the lights on for Queenslanders.
The Digital Division has recently undergone a large change / transformation project, resulting in the establishment of a brand new directive PMO structure. The PMO function is to operate at a strategic level in collaboration with senior executives across the business. The team is responsible for coordinating, orchestrating and assuring initiatives within the Digital Portfolio to achieve desired business outcomes. Our team’s vision is to become a centre of excellence in portfolio management, driving efficiency, innovation and continuous improvement within Energy Queensland.
The Opportunity:
The ‘ Manager Digital Portfolio Delivery ’ plays a vital role in supporting and monitoring project and program management, focusing on the execution and delivery of initiatives. By providing high-quality, responsive and timely advice to senior executives, capability owners and other key stakeholders, this role ensures the effective management of projects and programs, balancing competing priorities for the benefit of Energy Queensland Limited (EQL).
Key accountabilities will include:
The Manager will oversee risk management processes to identify, assess and mitigate project delivery risks, developing strategies to minimise potential impacts. Furthermore, they will monitor project health, ensure adherence to quality standards and manage vendor performance to align with the Digital delivery framework. This role also involves leading a specialised team of professionals, providing coaching, mentoring and ongoing feedback, while demonstrating a commitment to health, safety, environment and diversity within the workplace. Compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practices is essential.
Experience Required:
- Proven track record in Digital project and portfolio management
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach
- Expert in problem-solving and decision-making
- Experience managing large-scale Digital Transformation projects.
- Operational management expertise in complex environments
- Proficient in project management methodologies and tools
- Skilled in collaborating with strategic partners for service and project delivery
