Job Description Business Manager
• Lead one of South Australia’s largest independent Family Practice’s
• Strong People Management focus leading a team of over 20 GP’s and 50 Staff
• Reporting to Practice Partners
• Locations in Victor Harbor and Port Elliot
Victor Medical Centre is one of South Australia’s largest independent Family Medical Practice, located in the heart of Victor Harbor. Recently relocating to newly constructed purpose built facilities, Victor Medical Centre is privately owned and operated by a group of Specialist General Practitioners.
Victor Medical Centre provides a comprehensive range of services to patients from birth to older years including: Consultations, Surgery and Procedures, Acute/Emergency Care, Obstetrics, Long Term Medical Care, In hours and after hours, Residential Care, and working in partnerships with visiting Specialists
Providing leadership to the Directors and staff, including business planning for development of the practice, this role will involve responsibility for the implementation of and oversight of staff management systems and processes; financial management and reporting; and ensuring that the business Practices are efficient and progressive. Tasked with the responsibility to plan, implement and evaluate strategies that are aimed at achieving key performance targets that reflect the vision and goals of the Business Directors, this role will have the challenge of balancing both operational and strategic needs of the business.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Business Planning and Development
• In consultation with the Directors, ensure that strategic and business planning is effectively undertaken, implemented, monitored and reviewed
Financial Performance
• Preparation of annual budgets and monitoring of the Practice’s performance against the budget.
• Providing periodical reports and analysis of financial performance to Directors
Human Resources
• Development and maintenance of contemporary human resources systems to promote the development of staff and ensure that relevant legislative requirements regarding employment are met
Quality & Risk Management
• Ensure that the Practice complies with RACGP Standards for General Practice, and that processes and systems are continually developed
Information Technology
• Evaluate and make recommendations to Directors re hardware, software and system requirements
Ideally suiting an individual with a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, the incumbent will be trusted to work with a high degree of autonomy and self-directedness.
