The Manager, Capability Programs oversees the development and delivery of the the Workforce Capacity and Capability (WCC) workstream activities, including development of programs that meet industry needs, are fit for purpose, and build aged care sector workforce capability. This involves development of multi-media, dynamic online knowledge and capability resources for the aged care workforce to support them to adapt and apply evidence into practice to improve services and care, and to gain knowledge and skills in leadership, innovation, implementation and change management.
The role requires collaboration with the broader ARIIA team to contribute to the delivery of ARIIA’s strategic objectives and working closely with other ARIIA Managers. This includes seeking attraction of external tenders, grants and commercial projects, building and maintaining strong industry and research collaborations, staff capacity building, and building ARIIA’s national and international reputation
This role is also responsible for:
Developing multi-media, dynamic translational research translation resources and courses to facilitate and support the aged care workforce to access, understand and apply research findings to their context and developing their translational research, leadership, implementation and change management skills and knowledge. Active involvement in strategic planning and professional activities relevant to promoting increased aged care workforce capability and identifying opportunities to expand and grow capability building opportunities such as short courses and micro-credentialling. Providing leadership and expertise in mentoring and facilitation of aged care workforce, project champions and communities of practice established by ARIIA during research translation, implementation and change management activities. Making a significant contribution to ethical, high-quality research and research commercialisation activities and their dissemination as a senior member of ARIIA through activities such as development of high-quality publications and reports, and external grant and tender acquisition.Please refer to the attached position description, for a more comprehensive list of roles and responsibilities.
Aged Care Research and Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA)
Aged Care Research and Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) will transform the way we care for Older Australians. Funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, ARIIA will deliver activities across three workstreams to improve aged care for all Australians. Bringing together consumers, industry and researchers, ARIIA will translate research into practice to modernize and pave the way for sector wide improvements, making a real and meaningful change to the aged care sector.
About You
The successful candidate will have completed a PhD or have equivalent industry experience in a discipline and context relevant to aged care. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the proven ability to establish effective relationships with staff, students, and industry nationally and /or internationally.
More broadly, you will be able to demonstrate:
A strong research track record in workforce training and education, or innovation, growth or translational research including evidence of sustained high-quality publications with first authorship and attraction of competitive grants Well established experience and a successful track record in leading higher degree students, research fellows and/or professional staff High level judgement and problem-solving skills, demonstrating initiative, broad thinking and a solutions-mindset. Capability for the assessment, delivery and evaluation of evidence related projects or quality improvement projects within an aged care or health care contextA well-developed understanding of the aged care sector is desirable.
