Description:

We are seeking a permanent full-time Team Leader to undertake assessments and prepare complex reports, make recommendations concerning departmental carers and their adult household members, persons associated with licensed or funded non-government service providers (in the child safety and disability sector), adoption applicants and departmental employees.

You will lead a large team of administrative staff. The role requires integrity, discretion and tact in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

Role Specific/technical Skills

  • You are able to apply legislation, policies and procedures in relation to information access and amendment processes. You are experienced in the operation and maintenance of a case management system.

The Team Leader Key Responsibilities Are

  • Provide operational and strategic leadership, monitoring, management and quality assurance of the critical business deliverables of the administrative teamand represent the unit on internal and external working groups and committees.
  • Manage the human resources and operational activities of the administrative team, perform business reporting and ensure workplace health and safety standards are maintained.
  • Manage the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement and review of corporate systems, policies and procedures to meet the current and future business needs of the unit.
  • Provide high level advice, coordination, support and recommendations to the Manager regarding management and workgroup issues, and the operation and maintenance of the records management workflow system.
  • Develop and manage effective working relationships within the workgroup, management and external agencies, including internal and external clients.
  • Operate and maintain the case management system and train staff in the use of the system.

Delegations

  • This position has a range of administrative, financial and human resource delegations attached to it in accordance with the Department's requirements.
  • This position is an authorised officer under the Child Protection Act 1999 and has a range of statutory delegations in relation to this.


This position reports to the Manager.
