Resources Safety & Health Queensland (RSHQ) is the independent regulator of worker safety and health in Queensland's mining, quarrying, petroleum, gas and explosives industries. The Deputy Chief Inspector Petroleum & Gas is a pivotal role in leading the operations of the Petroleum & Gas Inspectorate. The Inspectorate oversights worker safety and technical compliance for gas operations across the petroleum and gas supply chain.The successful candidate will optimize regulatory outcomes for multiple industry sectors and community safety through collaboration with other agencies, leading subject matter experts and demonstrating Queensland public sector values and competent regulatory practice.

This role provides a great opportunity to take on a key leadership role that provides strategic oversight, management and support to the Chief Inspector, Petroleum & Gas deliver the inspectorate's regulatory and operational services in line with RSHQ strategic vision.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
- strategic leadership of a multi-disciplinary team
- experience in providing high-level strategic advice to executives and decision makers
- ability to build and maintain the trust, cooperation and contribution of team members to identify improvements and implement them
As the Deputy Chief Inspector, you will support the Chief Inspector fulfil their statutory role and duties under the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004. You will also oversee inspectorate compliance and enforcement, working with the inspectorate's Compliance Committee and leading the Compliance Officer to ensure regulations, standards and codes of practice are appropriately administered by the inspectorate.
