About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Catering Assistant to join our team within our Kalgoorlie Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation. We have 1 Full time contract available .

The rosters available are as follows:

Roster 1:

Week 1: Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat , Sun 1pm – 7pm

Week 2: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri 1pm – 7pm

Reporting to and supporting the Service Cook the purpose of this role is to work within the kitchen and dining room areas at the Broome Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation Services (KASSA). The Catering Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all food and beverage areas and kitchen equipment and for providing a quality café service to residents by assisting in the preparation, apportioning and delivery of meals

About you

The successful applicant will have experience in hostel. Hotel catering environments. You will hold good communication skills, understanding of workplace safety and flexibility to respond to dietary requirements. You will be able to develop effective relationships with clients and staff and have the ability to resolve issues in an empathic, sensitive and flexible manner. You will demonstrate a good level of time management and organizational skills.

Additionally, to be successful in the role you will have the following:

  • Experience working in a similar role.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of your own safety and that of others in the workplace.
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months)
