About the Role:
The Maintenance Delivery Manager is responsible for the performance of the team including all aspects safety, health and the environment. Core responsibilities of this role include direct supervision of labour, capacity planning rosters, overtime / leave, skills, training and touch-time productivity. Effective monitoring of variations, Inventory management and benchmarking of weekly performance.
Working with the internal and external Customers and local management team, the Maintenance Delivery Manager will ensure adherence to all company policies and guidelines and proactively promote, establish, and maintain good customer relations at all times.
Responsibilities of the position:
Generic:

Specific:

Responsible and accountable for adhering to the Health, Safety Environment (HSE) policies of Progress Rail

Responsible for ensuring all employees work and act in a safe manner and timely reporting of workplace hazards

Demonstrates zero tolerance of unsafe work practices

Responsible for the supervision and effective co-ordination of all crew members on a day-to-day basis to ensure correct and efficient conduct of work and operations occur with a satisfactory level of workmanship

Engages people in creating and maintaining safe and healthy work environments that support and promote physical and psychological wellbeing

Organising the personnel, machinery, tools, resources, and materials to meet the team’s needs

Responsible for ensuring maintenance is executed within the time, budget, capability of the maintenance facility

Ensuring that all necessary documentation, work orders, operation sheets etc, are kept in good order, and directs any necessary corrective action or improvements that are needed

Ensuring that crew members have adequate skills and training as necessary to perform his functions within the work team assisting with and or facilitating on-job training as appropriate

Provide coaching and mentoring to employees including development of 2IC’s within their team

Ability to train and mentor personnel to perform job related duties including safety, company and regulatory rule

Work in collaboration with others in our organization, and take pride in the achievements of the team

Communicate with customers, planning team and the Helpdesk to priorities workloads

Strive for excellence in setting and achieving goals through strong leadership and team commitment

Ability to solve customer problems quickly and effectively

Authorise employees timecards and approve additional hours of work

Undertake all such other duties necessary to ensure that the ongoing functions and operations of the team are conducted to the satisfaction of Facility Manager

Qualifications & Training for the role:
-
Electrical Trade qualifications and/or significant experience in a large production/maintenance or rolling stock maintenance/service environment.
Employees Experience and Knowledge:
-
Previous experience and training on locomotive freight maintenance or service activities
