About my client
My client is a trailblazer in solid/liquid separation technologies, partnering with some of the world’s largest minerals processing operations to solve their most complex filtration challenges. Founded in Germany, my client has built its reputation on state-of-the-art design, deep engineering expertise, and long-term customer relationships.
The Australian business has been operating since 2003 and remains the German Group’s most established and successful market. With a loyal customer base in the mining and minerals sectors, a team of five, and a profitable, stable business model focused on selling tailored filter solutions, parts and service, the platform for growth is strong.
About the Role
As the incoming General Manager, you’ll step into a well-structured succession plan with a clear mandate: lead and grow the Australian business. After a transition period with the current MD, you’ll assume full responsibility for the growth strategy, team, operations, and P&L.
You’ll work closely with German Head Office yet run the business locally with autonomy—building the business footprint across Australia, expanding into new applications, and strengthening the brand's presence in an already loyal market.
This is a hands-on leadership role, suited to someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats: commercial driver, technical translator, people leader, and operational problem solver.
About You
You’re a commercially astute leader with technical depth and a track record of growing B2B sales and service businesses. Perhaps you’re already in a GM or national sales leadership role, ready to step up into full accountability.
You’ll bring:
- A strong track record in B2B technical sales and/or business management
- Experience selling capital investment equipment into industrial or processing environments
- The ability to navigate long sales cycles and influence across multiple levels of decision makers
- Commercial acumen, with full P&L accountability and business leadership exposure
- Confidence dealing with complex equipment, technical discussions, and client sites
- A collaborative, practical and values-driven leadership style
Engineering qualifications (Process, Chemical or Mechanical) are a must, and additional business qualifications will be an advantage.
