We are looking for a Head of Commercial Finance in Australia to take responsibility for reporting financial information and partnering with the Tes Australia Senior Management Team to provide insightful advice and analysis that supports business decision-making.

In addition, you will support the financial aspects of a wide range of initiatives, including but not limited to business planning, budgeting and forecasting, product roadmap development, data quality, business practices and process improvements, global alignment, and acquisition integrations.

Key stakeholder relationship to the Tes Australia Senior Management Team to provide insightful advice and analysis to support business decision making.

1. Monthly P&L reporting.
2. Monthly business driver/ metric reporting.
3. Present monthly results to stakeholders, providing explanations of variances vs. budget and promote insightful discussion on financial performance.
4. Weekly sales reporting and forecasting.
5. Lead on sales commission process - scheme design and rules, establish and maintain individual sales targets, commission payment administration.
6. Support stakeholders through the business planning cycle in order to establish operational plans and budget input.
7. Support product roadmap development and challenge prioritisation.
8. Work closely with Data & Analytics team to drive work on accuracy and efficiency of accounting records, reporting and analysis.
9. Understand and challenge current business practice, identifying and implementing initiatives to improve processes and deliver efficiencies.
10. Support Group-level initiatives and ad-hoc projects including global alignment and integrations associated with recent acquisitions.
11. Lead small team of Commercial Analysts.
12. Key Finance contact and representative for Tes Australia business, feeding into Group Commercial Finance team.
13. Provide support to the Group Commercial Finance team and wider Group Finance Leadership team.

1. Ability to think both analytically and strategically - to go beyond the numbers and to think logically about underlying business issues.
2. Strong commercial awareness combined with robust numerical and analytical skills.
3. Good general understanding of accounting and financial control.
4. Proactive, ability to use initiative, anticipate issues and develop practical solutions in a collaborative manner.
5. Articulate with good verbal and written communication skills.
6. Be committed and flexible in your approach to work (reporting to UK based Manager).
7. Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritise work while meeting tight deadlines.
8. Be passionate about providing support to the business; drive and enthusiasm to use reporting to identify and deliver financial or operational improvements.
9. Advanced Excel skills.
10. Qualified Accountant with 5+ years PQE.
11. Experience of working with and analysing large data sets.
12. Experience of working with subscriptions products/ businesses would be preferable.

This role is based working from our Hawthorne office. It’s a hybrid position - working 3 days from the office and 2 days from home.
