About Food & Fibre Gippsland (F&FG):F&FG was established in January 2019 following the amalgamation of Agribusiness Gippsland Inc and East Gippsland Food Cluster Inc. F&FG is Non for Profit and is primarily a member-based collaborative network which has been created to sustainably grow the regional food and fibre sector, identify opportunities to improve productivity through innovation and supply chain, develop capability to support the sector and promote industry excellence.
About the role:
We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Chief Executive Officer to lead Food & Fibre Gippsland into its next phase of growth. The role of CEO is to lead the organisation to achieve its Vision and Mission through a modern thinking and engaging, communicative leadership style.
This pivotal leadership role requires a strategic thinker and positive role model who can navigate opportunities and challenges in delivering innovative services. In addition to providing strategic leadership, the successful candidate must be prepared to take a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations. This role requires a leader who is not only visionary but also actively involved in supporting the team, driving initiatives, and ensuring the seamless delivery of services. The ability to balance high-level strategy with practical, on-the-ground leadership will be key to success.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in the Food & Fibre sector and or a good working knowledge of the trends impacting and shaping the sector. If you have no industry experience but have a passion and connection for the Gippsland community along with extensive networks within the region, this would also be considered for the right leader.
Key Areas of Responsibilities Include:
- Lead F&FG as the industry professional peak body
- Be the voice – advocate for the industry – for funding and to impact government policy
- Develop and submit funding and project applications
- Provide high level governance and reporting (board, members /stakeholders and other)
- Collaborative leadership style and a strong capacity to influence and build consensus
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a strong Gippsland network
- Knowledge of regional development, capacity building and workforce development
- Financial, Business & Project Management including Contracting/Remuneration and budgeting experience
- Corporate Governance, Strategic Planning and Risk Management skills/experience.
