THE OPPORTUNITY
Salary: $60,000 per annum pro-rata + 11.5% superannuation. Reasonable overtime will be offered which can be taken as a 25% salary loading equating to $15,000 p.a. by agreement.
Time Fraction: Full time, 1.0 EFT.
Location: Eildon campus.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Contract of employment until 19 December 2025.
Join Our Team as a Sous Chef at Holmesglen – Eildon!
Holmesglen is seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our Eildon team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Head Chef and kitchen staff in a well-equipped commercial kitchen, preparing creative dishes using fresh, local ingredients. The position primarily caters to conferencing groups throughout the week, offering a varied and flexible schedule with some weekend work, providing a unique alternative to typical Chef roles.
This opportunity is ideal for Murrindindi locals or those eager to relocate, with a focus on seasonal, sustainable, and locally sourced cuisine for both corporate and student menus.
Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia is essential.
ABOUT YOU
- Completed a Certificate IV level apprenticeship in Cooking, with relevant certifications in Health and Safety, Food Handling, and Hygiene.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar position within the Hospitality Industry.
- Strong ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage large-scale catering.
- Skilled in preparing a diverse range of food for various occasions, cultures, and budgets.
- Flexible and able to adjust to client requirements, with excellent scheduling and planning skills.
- Eligible to work in Australia.

Holmesglen at Eildon is a purpose-built Conference facility and a campus of Holmesglen Institute - Victoria’s largest and most successful providers of Vocational & Higher Education.
The Eildon facility accommodates conference groups, functions, and events with accommodation on site for 150 guests.
