About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Assessment Officer, Provider Financial Viability who will be responsible for a range of tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
- actively monitor VET providers that are exhibiting financial risks
- undertake risk assessments of VET providers in accordance with the Financial Viability Risk Assessment Requirements Instrument 2021
- prepare financial analysis reports that provide well-reasoned advice on VET providers exhibiting financial risks, ensuring analyses identifies recommendations and next steps
- contribute to initiatives that support VET providers to identify and implement strategies to improve their financial performance
- contribute to process improvements, including inputting to revisions to ASQA's approach to the assessment of VET provider financial viability and conduct - and preparing work instructions and standard operating procedures
- work collaboratively with other team members and participate in peer reviewing financial analysis reports
- support the Assistant Director, Financial Viability by identifying and escalating risks and emerging issues in a timely manner.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- experience undertaking financial risk and viability analyses and presenting findings in reports that are easy for a variety of audiences to understand
- the ability to interpret and apply legislation to determine whether VET providers are complying with regulatory obligations
- the ability to work independently, with limited instruction, to deliver quality outcomes within tight timeframes
- stakeholder engagement skills that demonstrate an ability to build professional relationships internally within ASQA and externally with VET providers and other government agencies
- strong analytical and written and verbal communication skills.
Mandatory
- Professional accounting qualification (i.e. CA, CPA).
