The Role
Join the team at the ABC's new Parramatta studios and newsroom, incorporating the latest cloud-based production and augmented reality technology.
You will work with journalists, supervising producers, directors, video editors and the newsroom leadership team to craft engaging stories and high-quality news bulletins for ABC audiences across New South Wales.
In this role you will:
- Write and produce video stories and explainers, using innovative storytelling techniques and graphics.
- Work as a story producer with journalists, sub-editing scripts and overseeing graphics and video editing for all ABC platforms.
- Lineup and put to air the flagship 7PM news bulletin as required, liaising with the Supervising Producer, presenters and the production team to deliver accurate, high-quality programs.

About You
You have proven experience as a network broadcast producer, delivering polished video news packages together with fast and accurate breaking news coverage.
You will also bring:
- Advanced knowledge of television news production, including bulletin line-up and on-air production needs.
- Sound editorial and legal judgement, coupled with an understanding of ABC editorial standards
- Experience sub-editing commissioning video stories for major broadcast and/or digital news outlets.
- Proven and effective teamwork, communication, interpersonal and time management skills to operate effectively in a busy newsroom environment.
- Significant experience and understanding in using audience data for insights and trends in audience behaviour to drive editorial decision making.
