This is a key leadership role that provides strategic oversight, management, and support to the Office of the Deputy Director-General (DDG).

Role Overview

The Director of the Office of DDG is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing the operations, activities, and strategic priorities of the DDG's office. You will work closely with senior leadership to coordinate and align initiatives, drive organizational goals, and ensure smooth and efficient office operations. As the righthand to the DDG, you will play a key role in influencing organizational success and driving positive change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to the Office of the DDG, ensuring the office functions effectively and meets organizational priorities.
  • Lead and manage a team, ensuring alignment with overall goals and fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the DDG, providing strategic advice and helping to navigate complex challenges and opportunities.
  • Support the DDG in the development, implementation, and monitoring of key initiatives, projects, and programs.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, representing the DDG in various meetings, events, and forums.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments, senior leadership, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and schedules for office operations and initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, team collaboration, and overall effectiveness of the office.


Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership or managerial role, ideally in a public sector, government, or complex organizational setting.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • High-level understanding of organizational dynamics, governance structures, and public policy (depending on the sector).
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (business, public administration, or related field) are highly desirable.
