Iluka Resources is a global critical minerals company, with a proud 70-year history, entering a pivotal time of growth.
With a bright future ahead, we are seeking team members for our exciting Balranald operation where we will be deploying a new mining technology. Using remotely operated, novel underground mining (UGM) systems to extract key critical minerals.
About the location
Iluka’s Balranald operation is located just outside of Balranald township in regional south-western NSW.
You can choose to reside locally, drive-in drive-out from towns within the regional area, or fly-in fly-out from Melbourne or, or bus in/bus out from Adelaide.
About the role
Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent the Emergency Services Officer (ESO) will provide primary emergency response services, including medical response to the Balranald operations.
This will include the development of volunteer teams to effectively respond to emergency events and prepare and maintain the identified emergency response equipment in a suitable state of readiness. Supporting the treatment and management of injuries through to ensuring a positive return to work for the injured employee.
You will also have the opportunity to drive and support wellbeing initiatives across the site.
Your accountabilities will include:

Supervise, coordinate and deliver a qualified emergency response service by partaking in training & real-life emergency situations leading the first response and delegating instructions to less experienced personnel

Contribute to the coordination, preparation and training of the mine's emergency response team (ERT), volunteers and local community groups

Build individual and workforce capability through delivery of appropriate emergency response training

Contribute to the increased capability of the workforce to achieve targets by providing a professional First Aid / Pre-Hospital care service for site inclusive of business partners, with the medical assessment and appropriate treatment of personnel to ensure timely recovery from injury or illness sustained

Secure the future of the company by diligently assisting in the protection of its assets in the application of a variety of security practices

Supporting the Injury management and return to work processes as the primary point of contact

Maintain and service emergency response equipment for the operation
About you
-
Ideal candidate would be an experienced ESO or a paramedic, looking for an industry change
-
Certificate IV in Health Care (HLT41120) is mandatory
-
Cert III in Emergency Response & Rescue (RII30719) is required, or we will provide the training
-
Occupational First Aid Skill Set (HLTSS00068)
-
Qualified to perform Drug & Alcohol screening
-
Additional experience/qualifications below that you may have, or we will support you to obtain:

Undertake Confined Space Rescue (PUASAR025)

Undertake Vertical Rescue (PUASAR032)
-
Current MR driver’s licence
-
Return to work coordination
