• Part time (.4 FTE) • La Trobe Bundoora campus location • Continuing position About the position This position is responsible for improving and supporting the biodiversity outcomes across La Trobe land, with a particular focus on the Nangak Tamboree, including the Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary. This position will provide expert advice and collaboration with land managers of all University owned land across all campuses with respect to locally indigenous vegetation, with collaborate with external partners. This position will also provide important training and education to staff, students and volunteers in understanding biodiversity, ecology, seed collection as well as will work with academics, researchers, the public and La Trobe student community in understanding indigenous flora and fauna ecology and restorative landscapes. Skills and Experience To be considered for this position, you will have • A degree with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience. • Knowledge of Victorian flora and fauna and their ecological associations • Experience in weed control, seed collection, plant propagation and revegetation. • Demonstrated ability to supervise skilled staff and volunteers. • Ability to work within a team environment and liaise with other Department in a professional manner Please refer to the Position Description for other duties, skills and experience required for this position.
