About the opportunity:

Position: Medical Education Registrar/Senior Registrar

Vacancy: Temporary Part-time up to 01.02.2026 (with a possible extension up to 12 months), 22.8 hrs per fortnight

Location: Medical Workforce Services / Corporate Service Group / Townsville University Hospital

The Medical Education Registrar is an integral member of the team supporting education of Junior Doctors in the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. This employment will consist of a minimum/base hour working week only (no After Hours or On Call).

  • Salary range: $83.35 to $91.84 p.h (L10-L13), $65.35 to $75.77 p.h. (L4-L9)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (if applicable)

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • The ability to develop education resources will be highly regarded.
  • Involvement in performance management of pre-vocational doctors: including identifying and assisting junior doctors in difficulties, as well as supporting their supervisors.
  • Assisting in delivery of Teaching and Supervision Workshops.
  • Contribute to best evidence medical education through dissemination of this project at a state / national or international level.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
